Chapter 16 ~

Jacob hung up the phone, beaming from ear to ear as Rebecca joined him outside, a glass of her favorite OJ in her hand. “What’s got you smiling like that?”

“Just got a call from Cam.” Jacob placed his phone on the table and pulled her into his lap. “What do you say to having our Wolf ceremony in two days?”

Rebecca’s eyes stared into his, surprise showing as she took a sip of her juice. “Two days? As in, two days from now?”

“Yeah, two days from now. Cam’s brother has flown over to conduct his ceremony and guess what?”

“What?” Rebecca put her glass down, winding her arms around his neck.

“Grant, that’s his brother, has found his own mate, though it caused a bit of a ruckus ‘cause it was the girl Mac’s been seeing.” Jacob kissed her lips quickly. “Anyway, Grant is going to do Cam’s ceremony and Cam is going to do Grant’s, and ours if you agree, that is.”

“I know who Grant is, although I’ve never met him.” Rebecca frowned. “Shelly, that’s her name isn’t it? I remember her and the way Mac was frantic when she was hurt. I bet that didn’t go down well.”

Jacob shook his head. “Nope, apparently there was a bit of a tussle, but looks like it’s sorted now. Anyway, you’ve not answered me yet. Can we?”

Rebecca kissed him, slow, sensually, her tongue playing inside his mouth, before pulling back. Her fingers tangled in his hair, holding him still as she smiled. “I guess we should. You’re desperate for this ritual, aren’t you?”

Jacob nodded. “I am. My beast isn’t happy that we’ve not ‘sealed the deal’ so to speak. It would make me very happy but you’ll need a couple of days off afterward too. Do you think you can do that?”

“Why?”

Jacob raised an eyebrow, a grin on his face as realization dawned on her. “Oh!” she gasped as he stood up, carrying her easily in his arms.

“Yeah, ‘oh’ ‘cause we’ll be stuck in a bedroom for at least two days, possibly more if I can get away with it.”

“I think I can arrange the time away, what about you? Don’t you have any work you need to do? There’s nothing pressing for me business wise, or with the coven. My maiden is arranging our handfasting for us, but that won’t be for a couple of weeks yet.”

“I’m not taking on any work until we’ve had our ceremonies, both of them. For now I’m all yours, but what was that frown for? You scowled when you spoke of your maiden, which I still think is a weird title by the way. What’s her name again?”

Rebecca frowned, again. “Bridget, her name’s Bridget and it’s just I got a little weird vibe from her when I explained about you. I’m not certain, but I think she’s a little put out that you’re not a Witch. I could be wrong, it was such a fleeting impression that I got. Don’t worry about it. I’ll have a face to face with her when we get back and just let her know how things stand.
